Night Sky Desert Altar 2
REDUCED PRICE due to a superficial crack on the back of the piece (see last photo). I am confident that this does not undermine the functionality of the piece. This piece was in my recent Transmutable Ground exhibit. It was not for sale because I didn't want to sell any seconds without being able to show exactly what made it a second.
A tiny desert canyon landscape with a pool of dark, celestial Caliche Aventurine glaze where you can place rings, fill with sand to support a cone of incense, or leave as is and admire the crystalline glaze.
A small hole was cored out of the clay to create a mini vase within the rocks for you to add dried plants or dried flowers.
There are two holes on the back for nails to mount it to a wall. Or just place it flat on a table.
Measures 5.5" wide 6.5" tall and 2.75" deep.
Hand built using stoneware clay and glazes mixed in studio. The Caliche Aventurine glaze is unique my work.
Fired to cone ten using food safe glazes. Fully vitrified for durability. Gentle hand washing recommended, but it is dishwasher safe.
