REDUCED PRICE. Lithified Canyon Pot with Pools and Blooming Cacti Handles.
The price of this pot has been reduced due to a slightly wonky rim, which in no way affects its functionality (see last photo).
This pot was made to resemble desert rocks and pools (tinajas), mimicking the structure and surface of a canyon wall, capturing its solidity and fragility. It feels like a rock.
I sculpted rock handles, a cracking and fragmented facade with loose rocks, and blooming cacti precariously perched in tiny pockets of soil.
It is made with food safe glazes so it can be used as a serving dish, a plant pot (with no drainage holes) or a vase. It measures 5" tall, 4.5" in diameter at the rim, and 7" at its widest point.
Made with stoneware clay infused with crushed canyon rocks on the exterior and high fired to 2345 degrees fahrenheit (cone ten). The interior is glazed in a speckled warm grey with a green tone. The exterior is punctuated with vibrant glazes.
Hand washing is recommended, although occasional dishwasher cleaning is fine.
