SECOND. Stoneware Canyon Mug with Cacti #2. 18 ounces.
**This is a 'second', meaning that it is mildly imperfect. It is 100% functional, food safe and structurally sound. Price is reduced because it has a slightly wonky rim and the glaze application isn't quite as fully aqua as I had intended (see last photo)**
I was focused primarily on mimicking the structure and surface of a canyon wall with this mug, trying to capture its solidity, fragility, color and texture. I sculpted a cracking and fragmented facade with loose rocks, punctuated with cacti precariously perched in tiny pockets of soil. It is an amalgamation of many canyon walls I have seen over years of hiking trips.
Made with stoneware clay and high fired to 2345 degrees fahrenheit (cone ten). The interior is glazed in aqua blue. The exterior is lightly glazed and accented with a variety of glazes.
Hand washing recommended although occasional dishwasher cleaning is fine. Microwave safe.
