In this bowl I am expressing the beauty of a landscape influenced by a particular mineral: calcium carbonate (which happens to be an ingredient in most ceramic glazes).
Calcium carbonate is found in limestone and when it is suspended in a body of water it can impart a gorgeous aqua color. I have been fortunate to see this in places such as Havasupai Falls or cenotes in Yucatan.
This bowl was wheel thrown with porcelain and then sculpted. The glazes are food safe and fired to cone ten. It is fully vitrified. Can be used as a bowl or as a plant pot (with no drainage hole).
It measures 3.5" tall and 4.75" in diameter at the rim.
Gentle hand washing is recommended but occasional dishwasher use is fine.
