All items were made using clays and glazes formulated in my studio.
The only exception is the molcajete, which uses a commercial glaze.
Each piece is fired to 2345 degrees Fahrenheit. They are all fully vitrified and durable.
All cups/mugs are food, microwave and dishwasher safe. Hand washing is preferred.

Incense Burners and a Molcajete
A tiny sampling of new designs from a small solo exhibition I have been working on.
If you're in Tucson between January 4-February 15, stop by to see the exhibition!
Opening night is January 4th, 2025 from 6-8pm.
The molcajete, or mortar and pestle, represents the act of processing raw ceramic materials: crushing and/or pulverizing rocks in order to use them in a clay body or as a glaze ingredient.
For the pieces in this show I have had to crush my fair share of rocks :)
It is not actually made for grinding materials, but is food safe so fill it with salsa or ice cream or something decorative like your favorite rocks.
The incense burner shown in the photo just below is a rock I found while on a hike several years ago. It has the perfect little concavity that I fill with sand and use as an incense burner.
I decided to make a few ceramic versions of this little incense burner. Feel free to place anything you'd like in there. My recently developed Caliche Aventurine glaze was applied to the 'pool'.

Lophophora Mugs
Lithified Desert Cups
Geologically inspired cups.
Several cups include small chunks of local feldspar embedded and fired into the clay. Virtually all commercial clays and glazes include feldspar as an ingredient. My local feldspar was tested for toxic levels of elements such as lead using a handheld XRF spectrometer.
Figuring out how to seamlessly fire rocks into clay and select those that are compatible with my work took years of intermittent research and development. I'm so excited about the possibilities.
